With every webpage loaded, email sent, or video streamed, network traffic takes a complex journey…
Yesterday’s Microsoft 365 Suite-wide outages, led to continual faults for Outlook on the web on Tuesday, June 6th. When the outages pile up, it becomes difficult to tell when one starts and the other ends.
The prior day incidents began with EX571516: Some users are unable to access Outlook on the web, and may experience issues with other Exchange Online services. Then they morphed into Incident MO571683: Some users are experiencing impact to multiple Microsoft 365 services and features. But that one didn’t seem to go away, and Microsoft infrastructure was impacted throughout the rest of the day according to Exoprise monitoring.
Here’s an example of our Outlook on web global coverage that was “lit up”, so to speak, early in the morning:

Recovery Confirmation, Just as Important as Early Detection
Time and time again, we discuss with customers and channel partners how recovery confirmation is just as important as the early detection that comes with Exoprise services. Microsoft often indicates that an outage or disruption is recovered well before the recovery has been fully (or even partially) deployed. Exoprise CloudReady synthetic sensors fully emulate users accessing Microsoft Office 365 services, so you know when the recovery is really complete. Especially for your tenant.
Here’s a transcript of the latest outage, MO572252 (though it still seems like a continuation of yesterday’s outage):
