Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
What is a Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)?
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) if one of the three primary categories of cloud computing services, along with Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). It provides a virtualized infrastructure over the web and allows users access to computing resources.
In IaaS models, the physical hardware is owned and maintained by the service provider. It relies on virtualization to create virtual computing resources such as Virtual Machines (VMs), networking, and storage. The virtualization enables sharing physical hardware between multiple users while isolating their virtual environment.
IaaS solutions are designed with scaling in mind, horizontally or vertically, for changing workloads. The virtual network components allow users to configure and manage the network infrastructure to meet their requirements.
