The Crowd helps Microsoft customers “envision”
Office 365 operating in their organizations
A couple of weeks ago I visited the Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) located just outside of Boston in Kendall Square, a hub for technology start-ups that has developed in the shadow of MIT. The facility is an amazing, state-of-the art meeting, collaboration, and hands-on technology demonstration center featuring solutions from Microsoft as well as those from vendors, like Exoprise, whose solutions complement and extend the capabilities of the Microsoft products themselves.
At the heart of any MTC is what they call an “Envisioning Center,” an auditorium with multiple vignette spaces built-out to enable immersive demonstrations of Microsoft technologies being used in real life – a home office, a business office, a public transportation stop, etc. – all complemented with nearly every audio-visual bell and whistle a presenter could ask for. According to Chuck McCann, who manages MTC technology deployments worldwide, “The Envisioning Centers are great resources for our customers who are looking to see how new technologies can help their organizations be more successful, and for partners like Exoprise who want to be able to showcase their solutions as well.”
The purpose of the day’s visit was to get CloudReady Monitor installed and running in the Boston MTC’s Envisioning Center. That job went to Ron Bokleman, who manages the Boston Envisioning Center infrastructure. After getting a brief overview of the Exoprise solution, Ron picked a suitable machine to install the CloudReady client; a laptop that is used to control some of the displays in the center and, most importantly, is always on so it can continuously monitor Office 365 from that location
With the machine identified, Ron proceeded to download and install the CloudReady client and was pleasantly surprised to find that in about 10 minutes he had completed the installation and deployed his first two Office 365 sensors…a lot less time and difficulty than many other monitoring products would require.
Many customers who come into the MTC’s have questions about how best to monitor and manage performance and user experience when their mailboxes are in the cloud, and now they can see how the power of the crowd helps them do that live in the Envisioning Center. Obviously, we’re thrilled at opportunity of being showcased alongside the Microsoft product themselves.
MTC resources are available in 35 cities worldwide. In addition to Boston, we are also now up and running in Chicago and are working with Chuck and his global team to get Exoprise installed in all of the MTC’s in the upcoming weeks and months, so watch for CloudReady coming to an MTC near you soon. Can’t wait? Have your local MTC rep contact us to get started. In the time it takes to grab a cup of coffee, they too can bring Crowd Powered™ monitoring for Office 365 to their Envisioning Center!
