Provider Segment
What is a Provider Segment?
Provider segments refer to the infrastructure, services, and interconnected systems utilized by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and telecommunication companies to deliver communication services, internet, and voice to customers. These networks connect users to services across the internet by routing the data through ISP’s infrastructure and possibly other networks.
Provider segments include the core network, access points, DNS and caching services, security features, and connectivity between other networks. They ensure a fast, reliable, and provide end-users with secure data transmissions.
Provider segments in the Network Segment Analysis is the final set of hops taken by applications and services into the destination infrastructure from the backbone segment.
