Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)
What is a Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)?
Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) is a network security framework which combines Wide Area Networking (WAN) capabilities with network security functionality. It supports the dynamic, secure access needs of organizations. SASE centers around delivering cloud based security services rather than traditional on-premise hardware.
These services include Secure Web Gateways (SWGs), Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and more. SASE integrates separate security and network services into one unified architecture. It combines networking and security functions for organizations to achieve greater simplicity, flexibility, and efficiency in managing their networks.
SASE Addresses challenges that arose from the shift to cloud-based applications, increase in remote work, and need for flexible and scalable security solutions for networks.
